She Falls Apart
Before the manic set of Don Broco can be unleashed on this crowd, two other bands must showcase their talent before this crowd eager to see the headliners.
First up, She Falls Apart, they throw down their post hardcore material at the crowd, sometimes classy, with the riffs their guitarists churn out, and sometimes a little unclassy with the lyrics being shouted from the main man, Osh. The audience love it, however, their performance lacks any real finesse.
At points it begins to drag a little towards the end. The only upside, is the heavy breakdowns this certainly perks up the set and adds some well needed energy. Osh’s singing doesn’t really fit well, but his screams certainly adhere with the instruments.
The Art Of Reason saunter onto the stage, then an ominous, overpowering synth bass line reaches and fills every part of the Pioneer like water rising in a small room. Then the aggressive sound they possess is smashed into the crowds faces. The main driving power is the gruff, violent roars of their singer, Chris, which gives their music a pulse and rhythm to it.
In the middle of their set they introduce their drummer, simply known as “Steve”, but Steve can definitely bash those drums as he sets off on an amazing drum solo which receives rapturous applause and cheers.
An air of anticipation rises from the crowd before the headliners, Don Broco, take to the stage…..
Straight away they make the place bounce with excitement, with their indie-pop verse which burst into their big, huge heavy rock chorus’. They literally take the show by the scruff of the neck and are turning this show into what it should have been from the beginning, a fun, lively and energetic show. They finish on one of their heavier songs which then at the end, in which they leave their mark. A wall of death. This is undoubtedly the highlight of the show.
They were definitely the best band and a band well worth seeing again and follow the music they create.
